The course has been designed to ensure that students have covered all areas of the cruise ship restaurant and can become the best waiter possible in the cruise industry. The programme stars with the basics introducing the etiquette and the pillars of great service. Students will be taught about the rules the need to follow to take orders quickly, how to deal with people with food allergies, how to make effective recommendations and how to resolve customer complaints.
Students will start on the Pass for a week, food running and learning the menu and developing a good relationship with the kitchen team. Moreover, participants will do a day on reception to learn how to use the system and receptionist’s responsibilities. Answering the telephone correctly and taking guests queries is also included as this is something expected to do on a daily basis.
Students will be allocated to a ‘Trainer’ with whom they will spend the final weeks of training, having to the opportunity to experience different areas and ask questions. They will receive valuable tips on how to improve their guest awareness and to make a good first impression.
